Walkin', Talkin', Singin' Stereotypes

Live theater tends toward the highbrow, leaving Al Bundy, Roseanne and friends to trashy TV. But the Great American Trailer Park Musical not only lets the riffraff in, but embraces them, their stereotypes and their fashion with a wink and a smile. Florida's Armadillo Acres trailer park has everything: Dr. Phil addicts, tollbooth collectors, hysterical pregnancy, spray cheese, jorts. Stray Dog Theatre portrays "trailer trash" specimens ever so affectionately in the Great American Trailer Park Musical at Tower Grove Abbey (2336 Tennessee Avenue; 314-865-1995) tonight at 8 p.m. Performances continue Thursday through Saturday until August 18. Tickets are only $18 to $20, so buy a new pair of flip-flops, throw on your finest mesh tank top and tease your hair to the heavens for this tawdry good time.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: Aug. 2. Continues through Aug. 25, 2012
