Although you may know Wheatus only for its sole micro-hit, 2000's "Teenage Dirtbag," the rock sextet hasn't stopped making music. To the contrary: Just like fellow MTV Buzz Bin washouts Nada Surf, Superdrag, Harvey Danger, et al, the Long Island band soldiered on and continued to release music even as the mainstream went elsewhere. Wheatus' most recent work, 2009's Pop, Songs & Death: Vol. 1 EP, is available on its website, as is its entire back catalog (minus the self-titled, "Teenage Dirtbag"-possessing debut album), for the "pay what you want" system popular with independent musicians. Think of it this way: You can pay a buck on iTunes and get the one Wheatus song you know, or you can go to wheatus.com and get a few dozen more songs for the same price — or less.
