You just can’t keep up with those crazy kids and their loud “raps” and “rock-hop” songs anymore! “When will these whippersnappers wise up and learn about real music?” you mutter to yourself over your 5:30 a.m. coffee. Well, we’ll have you know that at least some young people have varied music tastes -- tastes that even venture into the jazz realm! Hey, that’s a genre you like, too! To check out some studious Webster University cats jazzing up the Moore Auditorium (470 East Lockwood Avenue), head over there at 7 p.m. The Student Jazz Combos Concert features jazz majors performing fusion, bebop and hard bop standards, and you know these scholars will be good because local jazz legend Willie Akins is one of the combo directors.
