Wreckless Eric

10 p.m. Saturday, July 15. Lemmons (5800 Gravois Avenue).

Wreckless Eric has packed quite a few lifetimes into his 30-year musical career. There's his stint as one of the original artists on the legendary U.K. label Stiff Records, where he hobnobbed with Nick Lowe and Ian Dury, and produced the lo-fi shamble "Whole Wide World." Then there were his mid-'80s recordings with Captains of Industry and Len Bright Combo, struggles with drinking and a nine-year stint living in France. In his current incarnation, Eric penned his autobiography, A Dysfunctional Success, and released the album Bungalow Hi, which finds his thick speak-sing brogue enveloped by gloriously twitchy keyboards, samples and funky bar-blues riffage.
