In case you were thinking, "By golly, I sure do feel like partying like it's 1864 today," we can punch your ticket. Just attend the
1864 St. Louis Holiday Ball at the Old Courthouse, and step into the nineteenth century while you're at it. As the name implies, this gala affair is designed to transport you to a bygone world of period-specific decor, food and dancing. In the morning (9 to 11 a.m.) there's a dance workshop; from noon to 4 p.m. enjoy a live set from the Independent Silver Band. St. Louis characters of historical import also make appearances.
9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat, Dec. 20. Old Courthouse (11 North Fourth Street; 877-982-1410 or www.gatewayarch.com). Free admission.
