Co-coordinator Stephanie Co, 22, says the bike ride -- part of a worldwide series of rides to protest our collective oil dependency -- has been moved up because she will be in St. Louis during June. During the first two years of the ride, the recent Washington University graduate and her co-coordinator Mariah Pittman, were out of town during the early summer months, so the ride was set for August.
It's also been moved up to be closer to the Northern Hemisphere date for the ride, which is June 12.

Co, a Chicago-area native, graduated in May with bachelor's degrees in biology and international studies. She plans to stay in St. Louis after graduation. Pittman has moved to England for the summer, but Co says a group of about ten volunteers are helping put together this year's ride.
In 2008 and 2009, the first two years of the after-dark ride in St. Louis, about 300 participants peddled in various states of undress -- the motto is "bare as you dare" -- over the ten to fifteen-mile route in St. Louis.
So what do Co's parents think of her coordinating the ride that raises eyebrows, brings out more than a few creeps with cameras and causes a big party on Manchester when it's over?
"I haven't really mentioned it to them honestly. Not competely, anyway," she says. "They're just a little conservative, so, that's why." Fair enough.
