35 x 2

It's been awhile since we've had any sort of theatrical festival in this town. Immediacy Theatre Project leaps into the breach with the first installment of its Drawn and Quartered series, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (July 30 and 31) at Mad Art Gallery (2727 South 12th Street; 314-884-1647 or www.immediacytheatre.com). Each evening features 35 plays — in 3D, no less — all of them originals and each of them about two minutes long. In keeping with the experimental nature of this shotgun blast of theater, the normal conventions of character, place and suspension of disbelief are often ignored. Tickets are $8 at the door.
Fri., July 30; Sat., July 31, 2010
