A Classic Christmas: From 1950s Television

Special Christmas episodes of TV series are nothing new, dating all the way back to broadcast television's beginnings. The Webster Film Series presents A Classic Christmas: From 1950s Television, which collects several of these early episodes (and appropriate trailers and promos). You can see an episode of The General Electric Theater hosted by Ronald Reagan and the Burns and Allen Christmas show from 1951. The Our Gang comedies got a new lease on life when they started appearing on television as The Little Rascals; the Hal Roach-penned 1926 Christmas-themed short "Good Cheer" is an early example of Hollywood's fondness for holiday plots, and it's also on the bill.
