How would you walk from, say, Vietnam to Lebanon by way of Thailand, with a stop for some Persian culture on the way -- all in the same evening? It’s impossible of course, unless you’re on South Grand Boulevard in South City. The blocks running south from the corner of Grand and Arsenal harbor a variety of restaurants and bars featuring the native delicacies of various far-flung countries; you can easily walk between said nosh palaces, too. This evening would be the optimum time for that globetrotting stroll, courtesy of International Dine Around 2011, a five-hour event beginning at 5 p.m. that features the cuisine and drinks of all those aforementioned international dining spots. All you need to do is buy a ticket book for $25 ($27 the day of the event); each book contains tickets good for an appetizer, entrée, dessert and drink, with one wild card that can be redeemed for any of the above excepting an entrée.
