It's another premiere for the Muny this week, as The Addams Family arrives for a gloomy bit of fun. The show is inspired more by Charles Addams' cartoons than the beloved TV series, which means a slightly more potent blend of zany and macabre is in store for audiences. Wednesday Addams, Gomez and Morticia's daughter, is dating a normal man, much to her family's shock. What's worse is that she plans to marry him, which means meeting the potential in-laws. And what will the groom's family think of Wednesday's family? Wednesday forces her people to behave as normally as possible, which is asking a great deal of them -- perhaps more than they're capable of, really. The Addams Family is performed at 8:15 p.m. Monday through Sunday (July 14 through 20) at the Muny in Forest Park (314-361-1900 or www.muny.org). Tickets are $14 to $85.
