A-Huntin' We Will Go

It's time we adults reclaim the holiday joys of our youth! We should be crafting wish lists and sitting on Santa's lap! We deserve to have a chance at getting the bigger part of the wishbone! We should not be shunned for scrambling to get candy at the (fill-in-the-holiday) parade! We need the Easter Bunny to hide eggs for us, too! Kids already get their summers off, plus they have the great fortune of not automatically barfing after going on a spinny carnival ride — why should they be so privileged? Fortunately, at least the adult-egg-hunt idea has grown in popularity as of late. Several places host such events, including the Creve Coeur Lakehouse (2160 Creve Coeur Mill Road). At 5 p.m. grownups will have a chance to seek the holiday eggs all by themselves (the kids-only hunt happens at noon). Participating in either ovoid search is free, but donations are appreciated; proceeds benefit Good Shepherd School for Children. In addition to the eggstravaganzas, the Lakehouse features music, drink specials, prizes and more. Call 314-576-7200 to reserve a table.
