Nearly as diverse as the four classical elements that make up our world, the styles of dance presented during
Elements, ANNONYArts' upcoming dance concert, offer varied visions of the art of movement. They unite into a cohesive presentation, just as the worldly building blocks work together to form life, thanks to guest artist Leslie Murphy and other performers, including pianist Joan Dannewitz, hip-hop choreographer Nikki Molina, stunning aerialist Monica Newsam, and talented tapper Robin M. Berger and her Diva La Tap group. Murphy dances on tap shoes at times and on air at other points -- thanks to both aerial silks (vertically hung strips of fabric) and an aerial cube (a hollow three-dimensional square-shape frame).
Elements, and all of its fiery passion for the fluidity of movement, is presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (April 26 and 27) at Satori (3003 Locust Street). Tickets, which cost $15 to $20, are available through
www.elementsatsatori.eventbrite.com and by phone at 314-652-3003.
