Archon Is Our Con

According to the Tardis Data Core, which tracks all things related to Doctor Who, the Archon were the race that ruled time until the ancient Gallifreyans declared war on them and wiped out all but for seven lone survivors. Here in St. Louis, Archon is the premiere science fiction and fantasy convention. For its 37th incarnation, Archon's organizers have programmed a cornucopia of Doctor Who-themed events in honor of the Time Lord's 50th anniversary. Of course, there will be plenty of non-Whovian panels, gaming, cosplay and filking catering to all tastes of sci-fi and fantasy fandom, so whether you're a Trekkie, a Wookie, a Stark or a Lannister, all are welcome. Archon 37 goes down Friday through Sunday (October 4 through 6) at the Gateway Center (1 Gateway Center Drive, Collinsville, Illinois; 636-230-9481 or www.archonstl.org). Adult admission is $25 to $45 per day, and child to young adult admission (ages six to twenty) is $8 to $30. Three-day passes are $65.
