New York City-based artist
Andrew Lampert returns to his hometown for a screening of his conversational work,
Home, a "contracted cinema tour" from his back-reel catalog. Exploring his inherent love of the moving picture, Lampert’s pieces are often an amalgam of found footage interspersed with his own personal film exploration. Drawing inspiration and content from his own life, Lampert is able to connect elements of the human condition and inner psyche through a soft focus narrative. As part of the Concrete Cinema series at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or
www.camstl.org), Lampert will unveil a never-before-seen performance piece with his trademark projection stylings. The series focuses on the connection that intrinsically links cinema and performance through screenings in CAM’s unique courtyard. The event begins at 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
