Others might argue, convincingly, that it is actually ice cream that is the zenith of Western civilization; oh, a few cranks will push frozen dinners, but it is, in fact, ice cream. After all, the ice cream social quickly replaced the corn-cob social as the popular frontier gathering. The frontier and the iced cream come together from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social at the Bacon Log Cabin (687 Henry Road, Ballwin).
