Officially, Schlafly's Stout & Oyster Fest takes place from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday and noon to midnight Saturday (March 6 and 7) at the Schlafly Tap Room (2100 Locust Street; 314-241-2337 or www.schlafly.com; free admission). But if you're aching to slide some of those babies down your throat and just can't wait, run down to SqWires (1415 South 18th Street; 314-865-3522 or www.sqwires.com) on Thursday, March 5, for a sneak preview. From 6:30 p.m. to closing time, SqWires hosts an oyster buffet; you can eat 'em grilled, stewed, fried, straight or with the usual embellishments all night long. It's $25 per person to have at the buffet, and Schlafly draft pints are included in that cost.
