Multitasking is a part of life nowadays. Talking (hands-free!) on the phone while driving, listening to music while working and eating fun-size candy while dreaming up next year's Halloween costume have become commonplace activities when there's so much to do, hear and imagine. St. Louis BWorks understands. To sate your need to accomplish at least a couple of things at a time, the organization offers the
Cranksgiving bike ride and food drive (
www.bworks.org/cranksgiving). During this event, cyclists ride by various groceries at which they are encouraged to stop in and purchase a total of $20 of nonperishable foods for Food Outreach. Fun and fulfilling, right? To participate, get yourself and your basket-adorned bike to Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue, Maplewood) at 9 a.m. to register for the 10 a.m. ride. You'll have the choice of a 5-, 10- or 25-mile route, depending upon your endurance. Now, before you go choosing the shortest course, we'd like to remind you that our nation's annual eatstravaganza approacheth, and the only multitasking you're likely to achieve then will be simultaneous digesting and napping, neither of which counts as exercise. In other words, get cranking!
