Food and art fill the streets of midtown on Saturday and Sunday (June 1 and 2), with the first Midtown Taste and Art Fair taking over the area along Locust Street between Compton Avenue east to T.E. Huntley Avenue. Enjoy eats by nearby restaurants including Drunken Fish, the Fountain on Locust and the Cup, and wine, beer and spirits tastings and specials from Tavern of Fine Arts, Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, Gamlin Whisky House and SubZero Vodka Bar, among others. Additionally, there will be a food-truck challenge, pitting up to six local food trucks against one another, including Hot Aztec, Taco Truck STL, the Cheese Shack, Shell's Coastal Cuisine and newcomer Bombay Food Junkies, with a sixth competitor yet to be announced. Peruse works from local artists, dance to live music on the main stage and shop one-of-a-kind wares in the homemade crafter's village. Festivities run from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit www.midtowntaste.com.
