It's difficult to determine what we love best about the Farm Dog block party. Is it the Schlafly beer and tours of City Seeds Urban Farm on a summer day? Or the informative food demonstrations and delish food-truck eats? Or perhaps it's all of the precious animals from Stray Rescue of St. Louis up for adoption (and belly scratches, too)? Whatever suits your community-minded fancy, you can indulge a little at this fest, thanks to your hosts, Gateway Greening, Schlafly and Stray Rescue. In addition to the aforementioned activities, live chickens and bees also get in on the fun, bands provide a soundtrack, and you and your pup can learn new tricks during the dog-training session! What a fest, indeed! Farm Dog is held along the 23rd block of Pine Street from noon to 4 p.m., and admission is free, but bring along some cash to fill your belly -- and maybe a leash to bring home a new pup!
