Somewhat unfortunately, the holiday air turns many of us into festive perfectionists who crazily seek gorgeous table centerpieces, the biggest outdoor inflatables available and unique gifts that scream “See, I do pay attention to what you tell me!” And while nothing embodies the sound of the season like the ringing of bells — from Santa’s sleigh to an angel’s acquisition of wings — we demand the best. Fortunately, the Gateway Ringers, an auditioned community choir of handbell ringers, are perfectionistic, too. You can hear the group’s exquisite renditions of “Sleigh Ride,” “White Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and even a medley from A Charlie Brown Christmas at a free concert from 3 to 4 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (2300 Pontoon Road, Granite City, Illinois).
