Cause and Effect

Dec 5, 2007 at 4:00 am
There are many causes for a cocktail: preparing your income taxes, steeling your nerves for dinner with the boss, realizing this really is the last season of Scrubs. But there's just one Cocktails for a Cause, and it's far more fun and beneficial than drowning your sorrows in a coffee mug of merlot. Tonight, the cocktails are flowing at Lush (3037 Olive Street), a swanky new midtown lounge. Cover is just $5 with a toy and $10 without, and all of the proceeds go toward a most-worthy cause: the International Institute of St. Louis (www.iistl.org). For nearly 90 years, the International Institute has helped new Americans with every facet of life, from learning English to finding a job. Mingle with members of i-squared, the Young Friends Network of the International Institute, from 6 to 8 p.m. As always, Cocktails for a Cause is co-sponsored by the RFT.
