This New Year's Eve rings in the start of 2014, which will mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of St. Louis. Of all the spectacles to see tonight, First Night in Grand Center has a wunderkammer of delights. Yes, it is a non-alcoholic event, but let that deter you not from getting your swerve on tonight! The opening ceremonies start at 6 p.m. on the main stage at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Lindell Boulevard, but there are booths, stages, and venues galore throughout Grand Center (314-289-1500 or www.grandcenter.org). The St. Louis Elite Flyers perform daring feats of tumbling and trampolining, master illusionist Keith Jozsef amazes and hypnotist Brian Imbus dazzles, Death by Tickle juggles with a mechanical pig and musical artists from the Brothers Lazaroff to Joseph Dreyer and Rosemary Watts do their respective things throughout the night. And of course the local restaurants sell their wares, and food trucks are stationed on Olive east of Grand. All this, plus a fireworks grand finale at midnight. Admission is just $5 to $12.
