Christmas: Live!

Here's the thing: You can listen to radio stations playing only holiday music all the livelong day, but those recordings won't fill you with joy like a live performance will. Yes, Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" is beloved, and yes, Burl Ives' "A Holly Jolly Christmas" is a classic, but you've heard these versions of those tunes countless times — so make some new musical holiday memories at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art (3663 Lindell Boulevard; 314-977-2666 or http://sluma.slu.edu). As part of the museum's free Sip & Serenade series, Diana Umali and Angie LaMacchia from the university's performing arts department perform "Songs in the Key of Christmas" from noon to 1 p.m.; wine and goodies from Creatively Sweet are served until 2 p.m. There's no need to RSVP for this holiday event — just show up and be ready to be musically and joyfully inspired.
