Clash of Rivals

Since the dawn of time, whenever the St. Louis Cardinals are slumping and need a pick-me-up, the city looks to its own favorite therapy: beating up on long-time nemesis, the hapless Chicago Cubs. The best rivalry in baseball is renewed this weekend when the adversaries square off at Busch Stadium (Broadway and Poplar Street; 314-345-9600 or www.stlcardinals.com) at 7:15 p.m. Friday, at 1:15 and 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, and at a 1:15 p.m. matinee on Sunday (August 29 through 31). Although the Northsiders are out of contention (again), they always play the Redbirds tough during a pennant race, and the Cubs' rabid fans never hibernate when traveling down from the Windy City. Don't let the standings fool you; there is never a dull moment when the Cards and Cubs go at it. Tickets are $15.80 to $270.80.
Fri., Aug. 29, 7:15 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 30, 1:15 & 7:15 p.m.; Sun., Aug. 31, 1:15 p.m., 2014
