For the olds out there (ahem), you certainly remember the joy you felt when one of your elementary school teachers wheeled a reel-to-reel film projector into the classroom -- you knew you were in for a relaxing hour or so of learning by watching. (We're guessing kids nowadays just pull out their individual iPads for a similar experience, but some of the magic probably is lost in the process.) To relive those low-tech days and to be reminded of a few valuable lessons, head to the Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue; www.mohistory.org) for an evening of instruction, old-school-style. During the How to Be Safe Vintage Educational Films program, held from 6:30 to 8 p.m., you will get some lessons on stranger danger and other threats, thanks to some short movies from way back when. Admission is free.
