Long before Etsy allowed the whole of the Internet to hawk wares, good old-fashioned fairs provided outlets for artists to showcase their work. The Fall Art Fair at Queeny Park is one of the longest-running art fairs in the i-state area, and this year's fair sees more than 130 artists and craftsmen individually judged and curated to participate. Professionals specializing in fields as far flung as digital art and mixed media mingle with sculpture, wood and glass artisans, photographers, painters and much, much more. Hosted in the park's Greensfelder Recreation Center (550 Weidman Road, Ballwin), the fair kicks off Friday, August 31, from 6 to 9 p.m., and continues through Sunday, September 2. Admission to the fair costs $5 and helps benefit the Greater St. Louis Art Associations' annual college scholarships. For more information, call 314-889-0433 or visit gslaa.org.
