The Natural Living Expo & Health Fair wants you to feel good

Do you decorate your home according to the principles of feng shui, worry about the imminent danger of GMOs or know what Pilates is? Do you enjoy gardening, tofu or the outdoors? If your answer to any of the above is yes, then the Natural Living Expo & Health Fair on Sunday, September 26, may be just your bag. If all of your responses were nay, perhaps you'll learn something interesting from the day's lineup of natural events -- or you'll have fun just drinking a lot of wine.

The expo is hosted by The Healthy Planet, which is one of the few environmental/health/natural-living publications in the STL. According to the pub's Web site, it's into earth-friendliness and social responsibility -- noble causes to support. The expo purveys information via 60 booths on both themes, including topics ranging from herbs to natural and organic foods to the latest on wind power, yoga, tai chi, pet care, meditation, outdoor conservation, vegetarianism and recycling.

Other highlights include live music, an array of art demonstrations and the aforementioned wine, served in a tasting event hosted by Whole Foods. Those people know their wine, and hopefully you will get to know it too. Apparently wine is good for you now, so why not?

If you're interested in socially and environmentally responsible living, the expo is a great time to make a day of it. What with the herbal-pillow people and the massage therapists (pictured) and all, it promises a festive atmosphere. And if you get there early, you could receive a free pass to the Missouri Botanical Garden or a goody bag of inevitably healthy sundries.

The expo transpires at the Webster Groves Recreation Center (33 East Glendale Avenue; 314-963-5600) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adult admission is $5; kids sixteen and younger get in free. Bargain-hunters can pick up two-for- one tickets at Whole Foods, Wild Oats or the Sappington International Farmers Market. For more information call 314-962-5419.
