Cross-Pollinating Art and Ecology

When it comes to pollination, bees get most of the credit. But when the sun goes down, the humble moth has been diligently working the late shift without a lick of the glory. Tonight from 6 to 9 p.m., the artists of Plantbot Genetics demonstrate their portable Garden Moth Machine at the PXSTL site across the street from the Pulitzer Arts Foundation (3716 Washington Boulevard; 314-754-1850 or www.pulitzerarts.org) during the Marfa Dialogues program. The machine uses solar power to project kaleidoscopic videos of moth wings onto highly reflective tents in order to attract moths to a variety of plants ready and waiting to be pollinated. Admission is free.
