Eating Hermann

You can take a drive out to Hermann and the Missouri wine country any day of the year and have a fine time. The charming little towns that hug the Missouri River just west of St. Louis provide an easy getaway from the sprawl and traffic of our metro area. This weekend (Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20) would be the ideal time to take your break from the same-old-same-old by heading out on the Holiday Fare Wine Trail. The grapey excursion takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with stops at Adam Puchta Winery (1947 Frene Creek Road, Hermann), Bias Winery, Dierberg Star Lane, Hermannhof Winery, OakGlenn Winery, Robller Winery and Stone Hill Winery. Each point along the trail offers a tasting menu of delicious victuals specially paired with glasses of the respective winery's fermented best. Advance-purchase tickets are required; they cost $30 per person and are available at www.hermannwinetrail.com. For more information, call 1-800-932-8687.
