Fashion at its Freshest

To help fill the style void in this space between fashion weeks, don't flip through magazines; instead, get out of the house and head to the Missouri Botanical Garden (4344 Shaw Boulevard) for fresh ensemble ideas. While the blossoming institution is beautiful and stimulating all on its own, this evening, it will be even more so when the American Institute of Floral Designers' super-inspirational Savage Botanicals fashion show takes over the Ridgway Visitors Center. Featuring ten designs that pay homage to the vogue visions of Alexander McQueen, this show also offers a bit of a twist, much like one of the more tricky Project Runway challenges: All of the pieces are made with moss, twigs, "permanent botanicals" and the like. The couture is in bloom and the cocktails are flowing beginning at 5:30 p.m., and tickets to the show cost $25 to $40; visit www.mobot.org to learn more and to buy your ticket.
