Since its inception in 1956, the Ebony Fashion Fair has been devoted to the twin causes of charity and cutting-edge fashion. The traveling show is sponsored by various nonprofit organizations in each city it visits, helping to raise money for scholarships and education around the world. The show also has a long record of bringing European couture to the African American community, helping to influence the style and flair of several generations. The theme of this year's tour, "The Runway Report: What's Hip. What's Hot. What's Now!" proudly upholds these traditions, bringing together the latest from America's fashion houses as well as pieces by designers from Argentina, Italy, Monte Carlo and the Virgin Islands. The Ebony Fashion Fair takes the runway at 8 p.m. at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or www.touhill.org). Tickets are $35 to $50.
