Fiddle Food

There's a right way and a wrong way to enjoy a meal on the street. Wrong way: cradling loaded nachos in your bare hands, shouting at the neighbors about their substandard flower gardens. Right way: sauntering through a picturesque downtown, sampling the tastiest fare from the hottest restaurants. This evening, you can be all kinds of right at Maplewood's Arts & Eats Walk + Second Annual Fiddle Fest. From 6 to 9 p.m., take a stroll through downtown Maplewood (Manchester Avenue between Sutton Boulevard and Southwest Avenue) and enjoy fare from the town's many great eateries. Grab a mini-meat pie at Water Street Cafe, try an upscale twist on a childhood fave with Monarch Restaurant's truffled tater tots, and indulge in chocolate from Kakao -- among lots of other tummy-pleasing opportunities. Many of Maplewood's hotspots are serving specialty beverages this evening, including spiced rum cider at The Post Sports Bar & Grill (and, of course, wine, beer and other libations are available all throughout the neighborhood). Art galleries remain open throughout the evening, and live fiddle music provides the perfect soundtrack for your gourmet adventures.
