Fire it up Again

Wow, could it be time for a new NHL season already? Seems like a blink of an eye ago that the Black Hawks conquered the Bruins in that astonishing game six of the Stanley Cup finals, yet here we are on the cusp of a fresh season — a full-length one unmarred by a strike this time. It's a good feelin'. So proceed to the Scottrade Center (1401 Clark Avenue; 314-622-5440 or www.stlblues.com) for the 2013-14 season opener as our St. Louis Blues take on the Nashville Predators. Nashville's a great town famous for singers, songwriters and hot-shot instrumentalists; but the team from Guitar Town should get ready to be rolled by the Blues, who have everything set up and in place to finally ride the winning train that, nine months from now, pulls into its destination: Stanley Cup City. Game time tonight is 7 p.m., and tickets are $44.40 to $317.
