As a child, Ms. Day had an adventurous palate. She wasnt afraid to eat honeysuckles (yum!), buttercups (not so yum) and various other pretties in the garden. But despite her willingness to try new foods back then, she doesnt dine with many blooms anymore. Its a dreary, bland existence, really, and shes hoping that Flowers and Food, todays theme at the Clayton Farmer's Market (8282 Forsyth Boulevard, Clayton), will bring the blossoms back to the table. While Day shops, shell pay special attention to choosing both flowers and foods that will look pretty together -- no word if these fleurs for sale are of the edible variety. For more information about the markets other offerings, visit www.claytonfarmersmarket.com. This shopping spot is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday through September 29.
