GetTogether

As the holiday spirit bubbles up to a fever pitch, Christmas concerts proliferate geometrically. One that should not get lost in the shuffle is BandTogether's Holiday Concert, an annual event that welcomes everybody for an evening of classical and popular music performed by the city's all-volunteer GLBTA concert band. The more than 100-member-strong group performs selections both familiar and unusual with a hip and polished flair, and it's a pretty safe bet you're going to hear their signature interpretation of "Sleigh Ride" before the night is through. If you haven't been before, you should really avail yourself of one of this town's better concert experiences. BandTogether gets you in the mood for egg nog, in-laws and yule logs at 8 p.m. tonight at the 560 Music Center (560 Trinity Avenue, University City; www.bandtogetherstl.com). Admission is free, but donations are as welcome as applause so bring a few bucks and your clapping hands.
