Gimme Five

Glasses (and courses), that is

Having dinner at Five in the Grove (4317 Manchester Avenue; www.fiveinthegrove.com) is a delightful experience, what with the locally sourced menu items and the affordable coursed-dinner options ($35 for three courses, $45 for four). But at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, the pot is sweetened, or rather, the cup runneth over, when the bistro hosts the Fresh from France Wine Dinner ($55). During this meal sommelier Linda McGovern from Major Brands offers up tastes of some French wines she recently discovered while traveling, and chef Anthony Devoti appropriately pairs the sips with tasty dishes. Reservations are required, so call 314-535-5553 to save your spot. And don't panic if this dinner is sold out; an Argentinean wine supper is on the schedule for Thursday, July 24 — same time, same place, same price.
