Green Party

Vote yes!

When Ms. Day first heard about literary magazine River Styx's Green Feast: Go Green, Give Green fundraiser, she imagined that all of the foods served at this party would be green in color. Oh, the asparagus spears and lime candies she would eat! The salads and avocados she would devour! But then she realized that this event's greenness highlighted that other green we're hearing so much about these days -- and she was even happier! Day loves the environment! Join her in dining on dishes from Revival, listening to music, checking out recycled art and other works, and bidding on these pieces and additional green-themed auction items, all while hanging out in a LEED-certified building (specifically, the William A. Kerr Foundation at 21 O'Fallon Street). Plus, she'll have a chance to pick up the latest issue of the mag, "A Readable Feast," which features recipes and writings about food (that's Richard Newman, the Styx editor, pictured). The $20 admission price (payable at the door) includes eats and drinks, and it will help River Styx achieve its goal of raising $10,000 for a matching grant (that's a lot of green!). To learn more about the benefit, visit www.riverstyx.org; the feast runs from 8 to 11 p.m.
