Each morning, Ms. Day awakes to a most frightful scene: Instead of a halo perched delicately atop her head, she finds a tumbleweed of tangled hair framing her practically angelic face. What a scary sight! Instead of then having time to enjoy her morning with a pastry and a coffee at a shop around the corner, she must wage war against this travesty of hair and tame this mane so she's at least partly presentable to the world. It's a tough way to begin the day. But this kind of challenge is one that some salons actively embrace, especially those that will be participating in Abigail's on De Mun's Hair Wars 2010, a battle between several local salons held at Europe Night Club (710 North 15th Street; www.hairwars2010.com). While the featured stylists won't be fighting against hair like Day's morning mane, they will be competing against one another to create head-to-toe styles befitting three different decades: the '70s, the '80s and the '90s. And they will have only about twenty minutes to fashion each look!
