Help the Kitties

Everybody's favorite kitty-centric animal welfare organization is back with its third annual Hissin' Hustle 5k Run and Catwalk. Yup, the fine feline-loving folks of Tenth Life Cat Rescue are staging their fall classic once again in trusty Tower Grove Park (Sons of Rest Pavilion, 4256 Magnolia Avenue) with a couple of new twists this time out: A long-sleeve tee will be available to runners/walkers for just a $5 upgrade from the standard-issue running tech shirt, and at the end of the event there'll be hot cocoa on offer. The start time today is 9 a.m. but you should register in advance at www.tenthlifecats.org. Fees are $15 to $30 and proceeds go toward furthering the mission of some awfully big-hearted St. Louisans who work hard every day on behalf of neglected, abused or abandoned cats. Cardio work is good, Tower Grove Park in autumn is even better, and helping homeless furry friends is best of all.
