Here Comes Trouble

When someone is letting three witches guide his or her life, you know there's going to be trouble. (That is, unless the witches are the three on Charmed, and then that person might be on to something — hey, those girls always got themselves out of trouble, didn't they? Mostly?) Alas, Macbeth heard his ascension-to-the-throne prophesy from regular, old-school witches — not sexy TV ones — and perhaps that is why he took to the sword to grab the crown. And took to the sword again. And again. You get the idea. To see how the details of Macbeth's life worked themselves out post-witch interference, grab a seat at the Grandel Theatre (3610 Grandel Square) for St. Louis Shakespeare's production of Macbeth. The Bard's witchy work is presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday (October 2 through 11); tickets, available through www.stlshakespeare.org, cost $15 to $25.
