Hop on Over

Job layoffs, a housing slump, Miley Cyrus' big-screen debut. There are lots of reasons not to relive the last year at all, but thankfully Schafly's Hop in the City is focused less on news and more on brews. The brewery produces more than 40 beer styles each year and reserves a batch of each just for this event, letting you reacquaint yourself with an old favorite or get a second chance at a seasonal you might have missed. Of course there's also live music, barbecue and samples from other local vendors. The party takes place at the Schlafly Tap Room (2100 Locust Street; 314-241-2337 or www.schlafly.com) today from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $35 day of or $30 in advance; they can be purchased online or in person at either Schlafly location.
