Ask any fan of crime fiction and they'll tell you that the pages turn over easy when the writing is hard-boiled. With some of the best contemporary mystery authors in town for Bouchercon, the national convention that celebrates crime fiction and the people who read and write it, Left Bank Books has summoned
New York Times best-selling author/femme fatale Chelsea Cain to serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies for a hard-boiled
Paragraph Party this Friday. The participating authors are no mystery -- Cara Black, Tasha Alexander, Eoin Colfer, Deon Meyer, Daniel Woodrell, James Benn, Peter James, Stuart Neville and Nancy Means Wright are among the eighteen writers who will each read a paragraph of their own writing. An event like this is best served cold, so the Bridge Tap House & Wine Bar (1004 Locust Street) serves as the scene of the crime. Readings begin at 8 p.m. Admission is free, but with this many writers in a bar, you'd better bring money for drinks. For information, visit
