Is It Out There?

Hunkered down in the basement of their building, the Utah Alien Chasers seek the truth that they are certain is out there in the night sky. Extraterrestrials are real, and the UAC are going to find them. Instead, they find a dirty boy wearing a dinosaur costume — and he seems to possess both a superior intellect and telekinetic powers. This is it, isn't it? He's the one they've been waiting for, the being who will justify their faith and prove them right — or is he just a weird little kid? Lauren Dusek Albonico's Intelligent Life is an offbeat examination of humanity's need to believe in something powerful and mysterious, even if — and especially when — no one else shares that belief. HotCity Theatre presents Intelligent Life at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday (April 28 through May 14) with additional 3 p.m. matinees on Saturday, May 7 and 14, at the Kranzberg Arts Center (501 North Grand Boulevard; 314-289-4063 or www.hotcitytheatre.org). Tickets are $20 to $25.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: April 29. Continues through May 14, 2011
