It Is What It Is: Conversations About Iraq

Mar 25, 2009 at 4:00 am
Interactive community art project conceived by British artist Jeremy Deller, which features an RV manned by two experts on the war in Iraq: Jonathan Harvey, a recently discharged Psychological Operations platoon sergeant, and Esam Pasha, an Iraqi artist, refugee and former translator for the British embassy in Baghdad. The public is invited to bring objects related to Iraq or the war for discussion with these two men, and with each other. Also on the road with them is the remains of a car that was bombed on Baghdad's Al-Mutanabbi Street. The RV is scheduled to be in the Delmar Loop between Leland and Melville avenues from noon to 5 p.m.; visit www.conversationsaboutiraq.org for updates and information.
