Fans of the History Channel's programming know the legend of the B-17 Flying Fortress. The bomber that helped win World War II is today known only that way, though: as a legend. Of the more than 12,000 B-17s built, only about a dozen are still capable of being flown. And this is your lucky day — the B-17 Flying Fortress "Sentimental Journey," one of those dozen, makes the flight from its home base in Arizona to the St. Louis Regional Airport (West Bethalto and North Bellwood drives, East Alton, Illinois; 618-259-2531 or www.stlouisregional.com) for a weeklong visit. For a $5 suggested donation, you can tour the inside of the "Sentimental Journey" from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 13; tour hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Monday (June 14 through 19).
