St. Louisan
Ann Leckie swept the science-fiction community off its feet with her debut novel,
Ancillary Justice. Her space opera about the vengeance of Breq, the host body for the consciousness of a destroyed spaceship, won the Hugo, the Nebula and the Arthur C. Clarke awards -- the first-ever novel to do so. The next installment of Leckie's Imperial Radch saga is due out in October (
Ancillary Sword, order it now), but tonight at 7 p.m. she discusses and signs copies of her prizewinner at the Central branch of the St. Louis Public Library (1301 Olive Street; 314-241-2288 or
www.slpl.org). Admission is free, and copies of
Ancillary Justice will be sold onsite by Left Bank Books.
