Fitness is an obsession for so many Americans, but forget the united 50 states of buffness for just a second and ask yourself: Are you fit to be tied? If the answer is yes or even maybe, consider a trip to the ever-adventurous South Side this evening. Specifically, drop in at Concrete Ocean Gallery (2287 Jefferson Avenue; 314-497-0199) from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, October 16, for the opening of a joint exhibit called Fit To Be Tied, featuring the art of photographer Connie LaFlam and painter Paul LaFlam. Connie LaFlam, known for her nude photography, emphasizes her work in the art of shibari — Japanese erotic rope bondage — for this exhibition, hence the title. And further hence why the show is recommended for adults. The free opening reception includes sushi and sake, and Fit To Be Tied remains up through Thursday, November 13, by appointment.
