Ken Wiederhorn's 1977 chiller Shock Waves combines the stock bad guy of the 20th century -- Nazis -- with today's hip antagonist -- zombies -- in one ultimate baddie. The Nazi zombies here are a specially engineered SS division who have survived on a remote island with their still-human commanding officer, played by Peter Cushing. When a yacht full of wealthy socialites collides with the aquatic zombies, the humans have their hands more than full. Late Night Grindhouse presents a digitally restored screening of the film this weekend, with the traditional pre-show of classic grindhouse trailers and other surprises.
