Executives who enjoy a three-martini lunch really have the life, don't they? Lingering over their meals, making the most of the moment, relaxing and letting all of the troubles of midmorning roll off their shoulders — now, that's the way it should be for all of us, from the "president" of the filing cabinets to the president of the firm! We underlings work just as hard, if not harder, and we're stressed, too. Plus, our lunch hour usually is spent running to the dry cleaner, the pharmacy, the cobbler or any other number of mundane places. We need a midday repast, not a trip around the drive-through. We need Dine on Dance. At these lunchtime dance performances, everyone can get a taste of the rich life, but for the very affordable price of free. Presented by Karlovsky & Company Dance (www.karlovskydance.org), the outdoor shows employ live music and interesting site-specific choreography developed by local dancers -- including Laura Murphy, Alice Bloch and Hannahbeth Fischer -- all to spread the soothing beauty of the arts to the masses (i.e., to us). Performances happen at noon, so grab a gourmet lunch to go, and nibble while taking in the loveliness at the Market in the Loop (6655 Delmar Boulevard, University City) on Friday, September 21, and at Strauss Park (Washington and North Grand boulevards) on Friday, September 28. You'll be glad you left those errands to another day.
