Maids of Dishonor

Weddings can bring out the worst in some people, and the group of friends at the center of Leslye Headland's black comedy Bachelorette are worse than most. Ten years after high school, Regan, Katie, Gena and Becky are no longer close friends, but they still party like there's no tomorrow. There is a tomorrow, however, and Becky is getting married when it comes. Her maid of honor, Regan, ain't too thrilled with that, and neither are Katie and Gena, who weren't even invited to the wedding. A steady amount of drinking and drugs fuels their long-held resentments toward the bride-to-be, and those grudges eventually explode in violent and unexpected ways. Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble presents Bachelorette at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (May 7 through 17) at the Chapel (6238 Alexander Drive; 314-827-5760 or www.slightlyoff.org). Tickets are $15 to $20.
Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: May 7. Continues through May 17, 2014
